Loose leaf catalogue describes Russian-language books acquired in 1909-1916. The catalogue is organised in alphabetical order, following the Prussian rules. Card catalogue describes books, dissertations, author abstracts, diploma theses and awarded papers, and manuscript research papers by UT researchers, published in Russian and other Slavic languages in 1917-1998.

Systematic catalogue (developed in 1870-1915)

Card catalogue describes foreign-language books and, partially, dissertations published before 1915. The catalogue is organised according to a specially created system of classification containing 15 main classes. Using of the catalogue is made easier by books in German and Russian, explaining the classification system (“Schlüssel zum Systematischen Katalog der Dorpater Universitäts-Bibliothek”. Dorpat, 1873. 43 pp., and „Ключ к систематическому каталогу Библиотеки Имп. Юрьевского университета“. Юрьев, 1900. 55 pp).

Subject catalogue of foreign language publications (-1944)

Card catalogue describes foreign-language books and periodicals published before 1945. Using of the catalogue is made easier by alphabetical and systematic subject heading lists (“Võõrkeelse kirjanduse (ilm. kuni 1944.a.) märksõnakataloogi alfabeetiline märksõnaloend”, 103 pp. and “Võõrkeelse kirjanduse (ilm. kuni 1944.a.) märksõnakataloogi süstemaatiline märksõnaloend”, 100 pp.).

Estica dictionary catalogue (Foreign language publications on Estonia and Livonia published up to 1944)

Card catalogue describes foreign-language books, serials, magazines and journals, newspapers and off-prints published in Estonia up to 1944 (incl.), now held in the Estica collection, as well as foreign-language materials about Estonia and the former Baltic governorates of Estonia, Livonia and Courland published up to 1944 (incl.). Classification of the collection is based on the list of subject headings, created and published at the UT Library (11 pp.).
